The Spring Equinox brings the changing of the season and the hope of improving weather. This spring, the LGBT+ and Multicultural clubs plan to celebrate the new season with a dance
Discussed as far back as December, the LGBT+ Club asked the president of the Multicultural Club, Veronica Bohrer, to help with organizing a dance party to act as a college prom for couples. Throughout the next couple of months, they continued discussing dates for the event until one was decided in February for Valentine’s Day. Due to complications with coordinating schedules and the ever encroaching deadline, the dance was postponed to April 20.
Although the Valentine’s Day dance was canceled, they still plan to do the couple’s discount at the door that was originally planned for that day. At the ticket stand, if somebody comes with another person, such as a partner or a friend, they will get a discount of a couple of dollars off of their ticket price. Admission costs are still being discussed by the clubs.
While the LGBT+ and Multicultural clubs are still discussing plans for the dance, the presidents of these clubs said that they will make them the best possible and they hope that people will come to celebrate the spring season.
The dance begins at 7 p.m. in the Multimedia room inside the Career Academy building, east of the Student Union along College Drive.
